Sometimes it’s easy to forget that many people who hold authority in the United States have some rather bizarre views when it comes to marijuana. Many politicians and military brass will tell you that marijuana is a dangerous drug and they are worried about veterans using it to treat their ailments, and they’ll tell you this with a straight face.
Of the roughly 16,000 doctors who treat patients in Maryland only 172 of them have registered to be able to recommend medical marijuana to their patients under Maryland’s medical cannabis law.
As can be imagined, if that number stays the same it will mean that many patients who need medical marijuana in Maryland will not be able to get access to it.
There have been many stories in the news over the last few years about U.S. veterans using marijuana to help alleviate the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and other ailments. Yet access to medical marijuana for veterans is hard to come by and the federal government has been no help.
But one organization is doing everything they can to make sure our veterans have access to the amazing abilities of the cannabis plant, “Grow for Vets California.”
Cannabis can do many amazing things; so many that more are being discovered all the time. This is not only true when it comes to humans, but animals as well. In fact, it was long assumed that cannabis could do nothing for pets and was even harmful to them. And while it’s true that THC can be toxic to some pets at certain levels, there is still a lot the cannabis plant can do for your pet.
Seventy-seven-year-old Tommy Chong has always been closely linked to marijuana use. In fact, he owes a lot of his success and current wealth to cannabis, but now, the star is speaking out about his experiences using cannabis as a medical treatment for cancer, and is helping to raise awareness about how a vaporizer pen can help people dealing with the serious disease.
